So far, every generation of pokemon has had at least one species that resembles Pikachu, the series mascot.
Generation I: Pikachu/Raichu
Generation II: Pichu
Generation III: Plusle and Minun
Generation IV: Pachirisu
Generation V: Emolga
So, what do we think they might use as the basis for generation VI's electric rodent?
Emolga has provided us with a dual type Pikalike, so don't feel confined to a sole type suggestion.
(Also, don't feel restricted to rodents, as a pika isn't actually a rodent. EDIT: Apparently I was mistaken, and Pikachu doesn't get its name from this rodent-like adorable ball of fluff in any way shape or form. It's one hell of a coincidence.)
I fancy the shrew, or perhaps a water vole based species, personally.
